The Chorlton Cat Cartel Facebook group was established a number of years ago and quickly grew in popularity demonstrating how we all love cats. The group has been an invaluable source of useful information and friendship for many and has even raised money to help one critically injured cat, Geoff. See Geoff’s story for more details.

Some of the founder members of the Chorlton Cats Cartel group felt that a natural progression was to found a local charity and so the Chorlton Cat Charity was established.

The Chorlton Cats Charity has been set up:

To provide educational resources to aid with the owners understanding of cats and their care

To support and encourage the neutering of cats

To assist with reuniting lost cats

To provide care and re-homing of cats that are abandoned, mistreated or lost. Please Note the charity does not have any facilities and cannot act as a shelter but will provide assistance and links to appropriate shelters.

To provide care and treatment for injured or sick cats where no owner exists or the owner is not in a position to provide the required care.
